About Sri Lankan NIC
The National Identity Card (NIC) in Sri Lanka is a mandatory identity document issued to citizens of Sri Lanka. It includes the holder's personal details and a unique identification number.
NICs are used for various purposes such as voting, banking, and other official verifications.
NIC numbers consist of either 10 digits (old format) or 12 digits (new format). The old format includes a letter at the end (either 'V' or 'X'), while the new format consists of only digits.
